Cheer Up Dusty

Pop-Punk & Pizza Podcast #178:

I’ve heard the term “Local Band” used in a derogatory way. I think we all have at some point, right? Well, South Carolina band, Aim High, is setting out to change that. Their upcoming debut album, “Local Band Forever”, is all about injecting positivity into being a local band. To help prove their point is a laundry list of well known artists and celebrities featured on the album. Dan O’Connor from Four Year Strong, Counterparts, and Charlie Sheen, just to name a few. Yes, THE Charlie Sheen!

“Local Band Forever” will be available everywhere Friday, July 23rd, 2021.

If you’ve been listening to Pop-Punk & Pizza avidly, you’re probably familiar with Cheer Up Dusty. The band has sponsored three episodes of the podcast this past year and I’m very grateful for that. So, it’s about time I had them on the show because I thoroughly enjoy their music! Songs like, “Shirtless and Afraid” and “Late Bloomer”, have been played on the podcast. One of my favorite things about the band is their brutally honest lyrics. Cheer Up Dusty lead vocalist, Justin Humenik and I hit it off well. We geeked out over Star Wars and VHS tapes. It was great!

Much Love,

Jacques LaMore
